Were the people in pursuit of security cameras responsible for murders and kidnaps?

It is very likely that people in pursuit of the security cameras installation deal in Uganda were responsible for murders, assassinations and rapes.

Why? Just like some city tycoon ( name kept a secret) imported speed governors and used government influence to make them mandatory for every car until his stock was finished.

Just like another tycoon brought in boda boda helmets and they were made mandatory. The seat belts, the KCCA’s decongestion etc

In expert’s view, there is no reason why a poor country like Uganda could spend $124 million on CCTV cameras without basic structures to support the system.

First of all  the government has extremely limited and inaccurate information about it’s citizens and even if your face was seen on those cameras no one can trace and track you down and find you.

Secondly, we have no background information on our citizens and face tracking technology to help us get any culprits.

The fact that they’re not installed everywhere means they’ll be shunned by criminals and all will be in the places without them. What these short signed government people have done is to put them closer to their homes,  we have selfish goons.

That aside, we don’t have basic healthcare, no enough road  networks, no jobs and you are wasting money on silly ventures. Surprisingly, these cameras will be stolen in a year or two.

As it is there is just one individual chasing this deal and taking the country at ransom. The $124m would have changed a lot.

Ugandans burry themselves into non issues instead of questioning such deals and putting pressure on such issues in order to get value for money.

The people in this deal, did they carry out feasibility study? Is the money the actual money? How did the process of installation begin? Who initiated the deal?
